armathakhuryan2017Recently the pupils of “Armath” engineering club-laboratory of Akhuryan high school after Nikol Aghbalyan in Shirak region of Armenia hosted the project representatives from Ucom and Union of the Information Technology Enterprises (UITE).

During the tour the pupils of “Armath” demonstrated everything they have learnt throughout an entire year. The children became skilled in creating games, doing animation, performing mathematical calculations with the help of «Scratch» and «K-Turtle» programs, also in object modelling and printing with the help of three-dimensional printer.


Awareness is another problem that must be solved. International Expert Carl Ulbricht said, “Half of the case will be done if we always inform the people about the platform, so that they are aware of it and use the platform.”

uitemembers2016During 2016 the Union of Information Technology Enterprises (UITE) implemented a number of projects and events tend towards the development and support of the competitive scientific-technological educational system and military industry.

By the efforts of the UITE about 200 “Armath” engineering laboratories operate in all the regions of Armenia, 128 out of them were established during 2016. In addition, during the year pf 2016, the “Armath” engineering laboratories have been awarded two prestigious international awards:  the first one – the WITSA Global Excellence Award on “Sustainable development” has been awarded during the World Congress on Information Technologies being held in Brasil, and the second one has been awarded as the “The Best Provider of IT education” during the GITI-2016 held in Tbilisi, Georgia.

uitesme15122016On December 15, the Union of Information Technology Enterprises (UITE), German International Cooperation (GIZ), Armenian Lawyers’ Association and European Business Association signed the Grant Contract for implementation of “Evidenced-based Advocacy for Reform.”

This project is designed to ensure maximum influence on the government’s SME business environment policy, through a range of interventions that include informal meetings and round tables, public seminars, working groups and the development of policy papers. An innovative aspect is the creation of a whistle-blowing website which will enable businesses to register corruption and other issues, and which will give the project solid evidence upon which to base its reform suggestions.

In the age group under 18, Marimba team won with its Get’n’Go in the‘Best Game’nomination.

The game of Masrik team—Marvel&UnitedForses —developed by Scratch was recognized as the best one.  VAV team’s SURVIVER  won in the ‘Best Design’ nomination. The winners were awarded 350 000, 160 000 and 200 000 AMD respectively.

In the age group above 18, Upper 8 developed by B.H.H. and Vrun developed by Gradius were named winners in the ‘Best Design’ and ‘Best Scenario’ nominations respectively, receiving 270 000 and 200 000 AMD prizes.
